Decisions

  • Sept 25, 2026. Search leads the landing page. Results open on their own page, with a breadcrumb back to Product Finder.
  • Sept 30, 2026. One search bar. The sub-nav search stays hidden while the hero search is on screen.
  • Sept 30, 2026. The catalog number leads each result. The short description repeats across a family, so it is not the identifier.
  • Sept 30, 2026. Product Finder is a standalone app in Phase 1. It does not sit in the Acuity Workspace shell.
  • Oct 1, 2026. The live site is Astro, with Starlight used only for these design notes.
  • Oct 5, 2026. Cover C quick actions are the Product Finder set (Browse categories, Buy again, Favorites, Need help). The reference sample is retired.
  • Category images. The tiles use interim illustrations. The long-term source, Sitecore or PDM, is undecided. Text-only tiles are the approved fallback.
  • Description field. Confluence points at the Item Store full description. The API long description was also described. Confirm which one to show.
  • Grid view. Confluence says VOC is needed before a card view is treated as part of the product. The toggle stays behind a preview.
  • Brand in rows. Showing brand and series under the catalog number is pending VOC.
  • Cart vs quote. This build follows the existing Product Search cart.
  • Production data and compatible products. Those blocks use placeholder values until the feeds are connected.
  • Order history (sample data). Buy again, Favorites and the home cards read purchases[] (last ordered date and order count), favorites[] (saved date) and purchasesTotal from src/data/user.json. These are sample data pending an order-history API.
  • View all: panel or page. Option 1 opens a slide-in panel over home; option 2 goes to /buy-again, /favorites or /categories. Recommendation: the panel for Buy again and Favorites (quick reorder without leaving home), the page for Categories (a journey that needs a URL). Switch with the View all preview.
